Cross Country Athletics

We had a wonderful day at the Cross Country Athletics semi finals in Renmore on Tuesday 19th September. Our school qualified for the finals in all four categories. Well done to all the athletes involved and thanks to our coaches Tracy and Siobhán. We are looking forward to the County finals next Tuesday.

Skip ‘n’ Rope

The children took part in skipping lessons today and yesterday under the tuition of skipping expert Mark McCabe. Skipping is not only a great way to keep fit but it improves balance and rhythm too. Thanks to the Parent Association for organising the event.

New Entrants

Our new Junior Infants have been getting to know the school over the past two weeks. They have been going on tours around the school and meeting all the staff. They even called in to our new Principal Mr Mitchell to say hello! Well done to all the new entrants for settling in so well in school.

Cross Country Athletics

The children from our senior classes are again taking part in Cross Country training this September. Well done to all the children for taking part. We have four lessons/sessions in total and hope to enter teams in the Divisional Finals in the coming weeks.

A New Year, 2017

Fáilte ar ais! What a wonderful way to start a new school year! Congratulations and well done to the Galway Senior Hurlers from everyone at Craughwell NS.

As the new Principal here in Craughwell I wish to take a moment to thank everyone in the school Community for being so friendly and welcoming in the few days so far. I am looking forward to working here in such a wonderful school where the children are so hard working, polite and friendly and the staff are so dedicated and professional. I would also like to thank the former principal Mr Mannion for being so helpful and accommodating. It is also worth pointing out to the wider School Community how well the school has been run over the past few years and this resulted in an excellent Whole School Evaluation report from the inspectorate.

Here’s to a wonderful year ahead.

Le meas,

Liam Mitchell
